Learn effective supportive responses to the mental health crises of clients, staff or visitors to your organization. These are modes of response which hold the potential to assuage people’s anger, fears, grief etc. without the need to involve law enforcement and incarceration. Participants are taught compassionate and humane methods of reducing the crisis reactions of people who may or may not have mental health challenges.

SOLVE (Sharing Our Lives, Voices, and Experiences). SOLVE seeks to replace misconceptions and harmful beliefs about mental health challenges with our stories of recovery in free community presentations throughout the City and County of San Francisco.

Motivational Interviewing Techniques | Click to Register Now
Engaging People Who Hoard: Motivational Interviewing Strategies and Techniques is a daylong workshop that presents the key principles and strategies of motivational interviewing and its application to people with hoarding behavior. The workshop will include didactic and video instruction, as well as many opportunities to practice motivational interviewing through small-group exercises and role-plays.

Intensive De-Cluttering Techniques for Non-Clinical Service Providers | Click to Register Now
This three-day course teaches participants the techniques taught in Buried in Treasures and applies them to work done one-on-one, service provider to client. The course first lays a foundation for understanding hoarding behaviors. Tools and techniques are then presented that can be included in other work done with the client such as work on depression, or as a primary focus if the main goal is to work on hoarding behaviors. Learning will be reinforced through exercises and case studies.

Language Matters | Registration Coming Soon
Learn the language of recovery and see why so many terms and phrases carry a stigma that is counterproductive to wellness. This is a workshop that is relevant to clinicians, consumers, family members and various service providers.



WRAP II | Registration Coming Soon
This is appropriate for anyone who would like to be certified to facilitate WRAP groups .
Participants must have developed and used their own WRAP, solid working knowledge of WRAP and be ready to share their experiential knowledge how WRAP can work.
